Description

UPU-L300 is a two- component type It is a waterproof coating material made of polyurethane resin and forms a rubber elastic coating film. It is a waterproofing material suitable for exposure waterproofing as it exhibits high elongation , excellent wear resistance and durability, and has excellent elasticity and elongation .

Application details

1. Surface preparation

• Concrete must be sufficiently cured. (Temperature: 25 ℃ , relative humidity: 80% or less, cured for at least 28 days.)

• In the case of materials where penetration of the undercoat is difficult, a film of the undercoat may be formed during the undercoat painting, which may cause poor adhesion to the intermediate coat, so sufficient pretreatment work must be performed before painting the undercoat .

• In case of high-strength concrete (260 kgf/ ㎠ or more), grinding may cause a decrease in adhesion, so it must be done using the blasting method.

To minimize pinholes and bubbles caused by the pores of the concrete, scraping is performed first to a thickness of 0.5 to 1 mm, and then the main coating is performed.

2. Painting conditions

• Ambient temperature: 5 to 35℃, surface humidity: 80% or less, concrete moisture content : 6% or less, surface temperature: 40℃ or less, surface pH: 9 or less

3. Painting system

4. Painting method

• Leggy , roller, etc.

• When painting , be sure to remove any open flames and check for good ventilation before working.

5. Mixing

• Base (Part A): Hardener (Part B) = 3:1 ( by weight )

• Add hardener (part b) to paint (part a) (color) and mix evenly with a power mixer for about 2 to 3 minutes.

• caution : If the hardener is injected into the paint in advance and left unmixed for a certain period of time, a reaction may occur at the interface, creating foreign substances in the form of gel particles.

6. Thinning

• Undiluted or with the specified diluent

• Never over-dilute, even if necessary. Excessive dilution can cause problems such as reduced film hardness, cracking, swelling, and dissolution due to delayed curing.

• Since it is a two- component urethane reactive paint, it must be used within the working life.

(The mixing time may vary depending on the storage temperature and ambient temperature.)

• The amount of paint required may vary depending on the condition of the painted surface, roughness, climate conditions, and painting method, so please check carefully before use.

• Bubbles may occur when used at high temperatures .

( Atmospheric temperature : Above 30℃.  Surface temperature : (38℃ or higher)

• Avoid painting on rainy days , days with high humidity (80 degrees Celsius or higher), days with low temperatures (5 degrees Celsius or lower), and days with high temperatures ( surface temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or higher) as normal properties may not be achieved.

• If you pour the hardener into the subject in advance and do not mix it, the reaction will proceed and foreign substances will be generated and spreadability will decrease, so mix it immediately and paint.

• When applying a repair coating on a previous coating or old coating , perform a test coating in advance and if there are no abnormalities (such as adhesion), apply the repair coating.

• Apply the base coat completely to areas that have not been treated with the base coat , as there is a risk of bubbles forming during the second coat .

• When diluting the paint thinner excessively to improve mixing and workability at low temperatures, drying may be poor, film hardness may be reduced, and cracks may occur. Please be careful as phenomena such as this may occur.

• If pinholes or swelling occur due to pores , remove the affected area and then apply urethane sealant. Apply follow- up painting after the filling work .

• If the surface is not tacky due to rain or snow, or if the interval between recoatings has elapsed after the intermediate coating, sand the intermediate surface , wash it with a solvent, dilute the urethane primer, and then apply additional coating.

• This is a yellowing type and its color may change due to ultraviolet rays after a certain period of time after painting.

• The hardener reacts with moisture in the air and hardens, so seal any remaining hardener immediately after use and store in a cool, dark place .

• Do not use paint that has exceeded its curing time, as this will result in poor spreadability and poor coating appearance.

• This product should be applied quickly (within 10 minutes at 20℃) taking into account the partial leveling of the construction joints.

• When painting in a closed space or underground, surface condensation or dissolution due to high humidity (dew, frost, boiling, etc.) may cause oil spots and surface slipperiness, which may cause poor adhesion to subsequent coating surfaces (intermediate and top coats). Therefore , operate the ventilation system to ventilate, check the condition of the coating (drying and surface dissolution, etc. ), and if there are no abnormalities, proceed with subsequent painting.

• When stored outdoors, storage performance may deteriorate due to precipitation and hardening of the subject. Swelling, etc. may occur .

• Since the product is a chemical product, it may deteriorate if stored for a long period of time , so use it within the expiration date.

• In case of inhalation or ingestion, take emergency measures according to the warning label on the side of the product container in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act and immediately seek medical attention from a specialist.

• Any remaining paint after use may cause a dry film or hardening phenomenon, so use all of it immediately after opening.

• Be sure to wear protective equipment when working.

• Avoid contact with eyes, skin and respiratory tract with the generated vapors .

• Use ventilation.

• Do not work in confined spaces.

• If it comes into contact with clothing, be sure to wash it with soap and detergent and water.

• After completing the painting work , immediately wash the equipment using urethane thinner.

• Cloths or other items contaminated with the product may spontaneously combust if stored together with flammable materials, so be sure to dispose of them in a non-flammable container.

• After painting, wash your body thoroughly with soap and water .

• Dispose of waste paint in accordance with the Ministry of Environment ordinance and local government regulations.

Storage

• Store in a completely sealed container in a dry, temperature-controlled indoor location between 5°C and 25°C.

• Avoid outdoor exposure.

(Storage performance may deteriorate due to ultraviolet rays and external temperatures, causing precipitation, etc., and rain may cause rust and moisture to enter the can. If moisture enters the can, curing may be defective.)

• Store indoors only when stored/used outdoors in direct sunlight, as rapid reactions may cause the paint to harden.

• Keep the product container tightly sealed and store with the opening facing upward.

Storage period

• 12 months from the date of manufacture ( 5℃ ~ (When stored indoors at 25℃)

• Depending on the storage environment, the storage condition (sedimentation and separation, change in paint viscosity) may change and the storage period may be shortened .

The amount of sedimentation varies depending on the environment. Usually, at high temperatures, the viscosity of the product decreases and the high specific gravity pigments settle to the bottom. • The rate of sedimentation increases and at low temperatures, the viscosity of the product increases, slowing down the rate of sedimentation. Therefore, to store it at the recommended temperature , and when using it, we recommend using it at room temperature.

• Transportation: During hot weather , high temperatures during transport can rapidly accelerate sedimentation, regardless of storage period.

• If sedimentation occurs due to environmental factors, please use after stirring with a stirrer or disperser . (Data attached)
